16歳より単身留学、ニュージーランドのロトルアボーイズハイスクール、ワイカト大学音楽科クラシカルギター専攻を卒業。その後ヨーロッパに渡り、チューリヒ総合芸術大学(スイス)修士課程にて、演奏・作曲の両面から音楽を深く探究する。

これまでにジェームズ・テナント、佐々木忠、アンダシュ・ミオリンに師事。作曲をマーティン・ロッジ、ブルーノ・カーラーに学ぶ。
またセルジオ・アサド、カルロ・ドメニコーニ、レオ・ブローウェルといった現代ギター界を代表する音楽家から直接アドバイスを受け、作曲の構造力、表現力を磨く。リルバーン学生作曲コンクール(ニュージーランド)優秀作曲賞、最優秀演奏賞受賞。

2018年に帰国し、現在は京都・洛北で仲間と4.5反の田んぼを耕しながら、農X伝統文化X音楽を軸に活動中。
海外での指導経験を活かし、一人ひとりの背景やペースに寄り添ったレッスンは、好評を得ている。英語・ドイツ語でのレッスンにも対応可能です。

Profile

He began studying abroad independently at the age of sixteen, attending Rotorua Boys’ High
School in New Zealand before graduating with BMus in classical guitar performance from the
University of Waikato. He later moved to Europe and studied MMus at the Zurich University of the
Arts (Switzerland), focusing on both performance and composition.
He has studied with James Tennant, Tadashi Sasaki, and Anders Miolin. He has also benefited from
artistic guidance by leading contemporary guitarists such as Sérgio Assad, Carlo Domeniconi, and
Leo Brouwer. He has received a merit Composition Award and Best Performance Award at the
Lilburn Student Composition Competition (New Zealand).
After returning to Japan in 2018, he is currently based in the Rakuhoku area of Kyoto, where he
cultivates 4.5 tan (approximately 4,500 square meters) of rice fields with neighbor friends
developing his work around the connection between agriculture, Japanese tradition, and music.
With extensive teaching experience overseas, he offers thoughtful, student-centered lessons.
Lessons are available in Japanese, English and German.
